I really wanted to like this movie. I played the original videogame, its sequel, and looking forward to the third installment on next generation consoles. I like Mark Wahlberg. I’m way into crime drama and heavy gunplay. Max Payne the movie is like that coworker you try to like, but they‘re so annoying it’s just easier to hate them.

Lets begin with one simple truth: Everything is product. The trick is to convince the consumers that your product is unique, special, something unlike anything else on the market. Doesn’t matter if it’s drain cleaner or the next installment in the X-Men movie franchise. This is the one reason X-Men Origins: Wolverine fails miserably.

First off, I would like to say that this game is a return to the old classic that made this game so popular in the first place, Street Fighter 2 and 3 (and its many spin-offs that came after). This game is takes on a “back to basics” approach that basically states, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Many classic characters (Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, etc..) are in this game, and it handles perfectly as if things never changed for them. Visually, I would give the game two thumbs up for updating and enhancing what has come before, a knock down drag out brawl fest.

The game consists of two of stories from the Chronicles of Riddick. The first story is a remastered version of the original Escape From Butcher Bay that came out on the original XBOX five years ago. Needless to say that I’ve play both the original and the new remastered version, and the remastered version rocks. What I mean by that is both visually and control-wise that this version is a better update.
